Rebels not chasing Pocock

Rebels not chasing Pocock

THE REBELS have denied claims that they have been in discussions with David Pocock about a possible move to the franchise.

A report in today’s Daily Telegraph indicated that the Melbourne-based side is the leading contender to snare the Wallabies star's signature for 2013.

However, Rebels chief executive Steven Boland says that is not the case at all. He says the Rebels have not had, nor do they intend to have any discussions with Pocock.

“It never ceases to amaze us where this nonsense comes from. There is absolutely no basis of fact in this report,” he said in a statement.

“I am on record as saying we think David is a wonderful player, but he is not in our plans.”

Suggestions in the same article that Quade Cooper could potentially join the Rebels next year were also categorically refuted.

The Rebels beat the Blues 34-23 last night.
