Ranger handed two-week ban

BLUES WING Rene Ranger has received a two-week suspension after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle charge on Bulls wing Bjorn Basson.

The incident happened in the 79th minute of the sides’ clash at Loftus Versfeld when Basson had slid in for a last-minute try.

Ranger was deemed by SANZAR judicial officer Mike Heron to have had used no arms when attempting to prevent the score.

Ranger will miss the Blues’ matches against the Stormers and Hurricanes this and next weekend respectively.
