WANGANUI WILL challenge Taranaki for the Ranfurly Shield in New Plymouth next year.
The match will be played at Yarrow Stadium on August 4, the Taranaki Rugby Union confirmed.
It is one of two pre-season Shield defences for the amber and blacks.
