ITM Cup
SAMOA AND Counties Manukau lock/loose forward Taiasina Tuifua will play for Newcastle next season.
The 26-year-old, who was a member of the Samoan side which sensationally upset the Wallabies in Sydney last month, is one of 14 new signings made by the Aviva Premiership outfit for the 2011-12 season.
“He's a big man, a good ball carrier and will give us so many dimensions to our set-up. He was a big part of the Samoan team which conquered Australia a fortnight ago and I am delighted that we held out for him,” says coach Alan Tait.
Tuifua made his test debut against Japan in this year’s Pacific Nations Cup and will play for Samoa at the Rugby World Cup.
