Burger to miss Tri Nations

SPRINGBOKS FLANKER Schalk Burger is likely to miss part of the Tri Nations after undergoing surgery on his hand on Sunday.

Burger was replaced at halftime during the Stormers’ 29-10 Super Rugby semifinal loss to the Crusaders on Saturday after dislocating his thumb and damaging ligaments in his right hand.

He is expected to be out of commission for between six to eight weeks.

The Springboks open their Tri Nations campaign against the Wallabies in Sydney on July 23.
