Weakened Tri Nations squad considered

ALL BLACKS  management are considering selecting a weakened squad for the overseas leg of this year’s Tri Nations.

Team manager Darren Shand said while the Men in Black are focused on winning the tournament and retaining the Bledisloe Cup, the ultimate goal is to win the Rugby World Cup.

However, he said no decision has been made yet about picking an under-strength team for games in Australia and South Africa, as the team is still in its planning stages.

The Springboks took a similar approach during the 2007 tournament on their way to winning the RWC that year.
